Joachim Peiper

SS Standartenfuhrer

Joachim Peiper was a field officer in the Waffen-SS. After volunteered to join Hitler Youth at 18 years old, Peiper rose his prominence within the Nazi Party quickly. He earned more than 20 military awards and honors during he fought on both Eastern and Western Front. And finally he became personal adjutant to Heinrich Himmler.

He was a fanatical Nazi and never rescinded his support of Hitler. He denied nothing when accused of the war crimes, but he escaped from sentence to death. After the war, he became a freelance write and book translator. He was murdered in France in 1976.
