These Special Force Units, once called "Green Berets", are now known as the "A-Team". Operating as twelve man teams, their role is unconventional warfare and internal defense in co-operation with indeneus forces. Special Force A-Teams operated covertly in Afghanistan in late 2001 in support of anti- Taliban Afghans.
