US President & Naval Aviator
Commander-in-Chief, President George W. Bush, 1 May 2003 - President Bush made history when he became the first President of the United States to land on a carrier. Bush first flew the S-3B Viking aircraft that he was flying in over the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) before turning the controls over to the Naval aviator for the landing. The President then took the salute on the deck of the carrier.
